VENGEANCE: A New Addon for Half-Life 2 Deathmatch

If you are a fan of Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, you might be interested in a new addon called VENGEANCE. This addon adds new features and fixes to the game, such as extended field-of-view, improved scoring system, bug fixes, and more. It also includes a collection of custom maps for different game modes and scenarios.

VENGEANCE is based on the sourcemod plugins created by utharper for the Australian Deathmatch server[^1^]. The plugins aim to enhance the gameplay and player experience of Half-Life 2 Deathmatch without compromising its original style. Some of the features of VENGEANCE are:

xFov: Allows players to set their field-of-view to any value between 90 and 110. This is useful for widescreen monitors and gives a better view of the surroundings.

xFix: Fixes various issues with the game, such as scoring bugs, spectator bugs, chat spam, and exploits.

XMS: eXtended Match System for competitive servers. It allows players to create and join teams, vote for maps and settings, and view match results.

xms_bots: RCBot2 controller for XMS servers. It adds bots to the game that can play various game modes and use different weapons.

xms_discord: Publishes match results to discord servers. It can also send notifications and announcements to players.

gameme_hud: Displays a stats HUD in the scoreboard, using gameME data. It shows information such as kills, deaths, accuracy, headshots, and more.

VENGEANCE also comes with a pack of custom maps created by various authors. Some of the maps are:

dm_freetv: A small map where you can punt some free TVs at your friends' faces.

dm_arcticheights: A little cave located on the side of a mountain in the Arctic.

dm_24_1_chaosbox: A very chaotic map. Perfect for chaotic people.

dm_ravine: A big deadly ravine located in the woods where chaos ensues and plenty of fun is had.

dm_liminal_pool_rustleak11_v1: A random, unfinished, liminal map. It includes all of the map files, including the vmf.

dm_long_awakeining_v1: Another random, unfinished, liminal map.

DM_Canals v0.2: A first map by a new mapper. Based on the canals from Half-Life 2.

veryorangyepisode: A map inspired by cp_orange from Team Fortress 2.

dm_lambdabunker: A remake of the original classic Half-Life multiplayer map for Half-Life 2 Deathmatch.

If you want to try out VENGEANCE, you can download it from Mod DB[^2^] or Steam Workshop[^3^]. You will need Half-Life 2 Deathmatch installed on your computer. To install VENGEANCE, simply extract the contents of the zip file into your hl2mp folder. To uninstall it, delete the VENGEANCE folder from your hl2mp folder.
